SPOT & WEATHER
Shreddin' crystal clear water with a breathtaking view of the desert mountains!
Located away from the crowds of mass tourism, this unique spot is different from other famous surf destinations in Egypt. It offers ideal conditions for kitesurfers, windsurfers and wingfoilers—whether you're a beginner or an advanced rider.
Let's start with the best part: we are the only school in the entire lagoon, which means this large playground of 11km² is exclusively available to our guests. It provides plenty of space, with consistent wind blowing all year round and a safe wind direction. Enjoy the convenience of a spacious standing area and the thrill of flat water, ensuring ideal conditions every time you hit the water.
You find us just 10km south of Safaga. This is only a 4 hour flight from Europe and a 55min car drive from the airport in Hurghada. For the ones knowing the area: we are about 20-30min away from Soma Bay.
Be prepared for something extraordinary! This spot offers all a kiter's and surfer's heart desires!!!
THE SPOT
Our surf spot offers fantastic conditions for kitesurfers, wingfoilers as well as windsurfers of all levels!
Right in front of the beach, there is a large standing area, beneficial and super safe for beginners to learn and practice. Just a few meters beyond, you'll find the deep water area, perfect for foiling and more experienced surfers. Don’t be fooled by the size of this area—it’s massive! Depending on the tide and wind, you might encounter some small chop, but it usually remains quite flat. Further out, protecting the bay, lies a huge sandbank with two large deep water pools. The small pool is accessible for windsurfers, while the entire sandbank is a kiteboarding paradise, featuring crystal-clear, super-flat water and white sands.
The wind here offers almost unbeatable conditions! It is very stable because it comes from the open sea. Early in the morning, it blows side shore until around 11 a.m., then shifts to a steady side-onshore breeze with stronger winds. This creates ideal and safe conditions for both beginners and advanced riders. Expect consistent wind until about 2-3 p.m., with the possibility of it dying down or continuing to blow right up until sunset, depending on the season.
The conditions at this spot create an exceptionally safe environment. The surrounding sandbank almost completely encloses the lagoon, resulting in very flat water with standing areas all around. This provides ample space to practice and enjoy yourself freely. Thanks to the prevailing wind direction, you will always drift safely back to shore. Your safety is further ensured by our attentive beach helpers and rescue boats.
Whether you’re learning the basics, foiling, kiting, or surfing, this spot offers something for everyone! Come and discover it by yourself!

WEBCAM
Together with Addicted Sports, we operate a high-resolution webcam at our spot. It constantly provides you with the latest images in fascinating resolution and quality as well as the measured wind conditions on spot, in order to keep you updated or make you dream at your working desk ;-). Small hint: check out also the early morning and evening/night hours, as the camera captures breathtaking moods of nature.
The webcam is installed on the roof of the Surfer Hotel and is aimed directly at the entire lagoon with it's huge white sandbank. The wind measuring station is right next to the webcam, which gives you an indicator of the current wind conditions. This whole spot is waiting for you to be surfed or foiled!
